We treat candidates as clients.

Journey only represents IT salespeople we believe are credible, relevant and right for the clients we work with. SEEK is how we understand you before we talk about roles.

Candidates are clients

Dignity, respect, confidentiality, openness, honesty and clear communication.

No speculative CV sending

We do not take your CV to market speculatively or send your details to companies without consent.

Live roles only

Journey only works on live roles with real hiring intent, agreed terms and clear hiring requirements.

The Candidate Journey

First and foremost, we treat candidates as clients.

You do not pay us, but you are still a Journey client.

If we do not understand your needs, your background and what a good move looks like for you, we are unlikely to place you well.

We are not an open-door recruiter. Journey only represents candidates we believe are credible, relevant and appropriate for the clients we work with.

That matters.

Our clients are some of the most successful IT companies in the UK. Many are repeat clients, and some have worked with Journey for more than 20 years.

Our reputation with those clients is built on trust and judgement. If we introduce you to a client, it is because we believe fully in the match: client need, candidate skill and candidate ambition.

Most of our work with both clients and candidates is upfront understanding and qualification. That reputation helps the candidates we represent.

Our candidate charter

Journey treats candidates properly, with clear communication, confidentiality and honest guidance throughout the process.

  • Candidates are clients
  • Dignity and respect
  • Confidentiality
  • Openness and honesty
  • Clear communication

No one likes to be processed, but everyone likes to know what the process is. SEEK is how we understand candidates before we talk about roles.

We start by understanding your current situation.

  • What are you doing now?
  • What do you want to do next?
  • What are you trying to avoid?
  • What would make a move worth your time?

This is also where we give honest advice. Sometimes that includes realism about the market, your background, your salary expectations or how hiring companies may perceive your experience.

We then look properly at your background.

  • What do you sell?
  • Who do you sell to?
  • How do you sell?
  • What kind of sales environment have you succeeded in?
  • Where are you on the sales growth curve?

We do not just read job titles. We look at product, buyer, market, deal size, sales process, target environment, earnings and evidence of performance.

Together, we consider live roles that may fit. Journey only works on live roles with real hiring intent. That means we work with clients:

  • We have met
  • Who have signed off headcount
  • Where terms are agreed
  • Where the brief and remit are clear
  • Where we understand what the client is trying to hire

We do not take your CV to market speculatively. We do not send your details to companies without consent. We do not arrange speculative interviews with companies that do not have an agreed role.

Sometimes we will not have the right role immediately. That does not mean the relationship ends.

If we represent you as a Journey candidate, the door stays open. We keep in touch, share relevant roles, provide guidance where we can and continue to support you as your career develops.

If you enter a process, we stay with you through it. That includes interview preparation, company insight, feedback, offer advice and honest guidance at each stage.
